’I’ve lost track of how many times I use algebra each week. What a lifesaver!’… said no adult ever. We learned a lot of things in school that we’ve never actually needed to know in real life. Most of us have never been asked to quote Shakespeare, or recite Pythagoras’ theorem or… square dance. Meanwhile, important things like how to nail a job interview, how to do taxes, and whether buying or renting is a better financial option were conveniently left off the curriculum.
