Grump lost the debate but does that matter to Christians who would vote for him?

Donald Trump doesn’t believe in repentance and cannot ask for forgiveness. Given the centrality of forgiveness in Christianity (i.e., you know, salvation), how and why do conservative Christians continue to support him?
