North west Tasmanian cattle producers have shown strong support for the first livestock sale in Smithton for some time with 500 cattle under the hammer, and as well several hundred people including plenty of buyers turned up at the sale which organisers hope will become a regular event after the recent closure of the Quoiba saleyards.
