She learned to play a few instruments, becoming a world class player—especially on the mandolin.She is best known as a bluegrass player--in fact known in music circles as the “Queen of Bluegrass”. And her many awards in that domain back up her nickname: to date, Rhonda (and her band) have won 1 Grammy and 19 IMBA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Entertainer of the Year awards—a record.But, maybe the most special acknowledgment of her greatness was the Feb 28, 2020 invitation to be a Member of the Grand Ole Opry.
