Syrian rebels take control of Aleppo

Russia has carried out air-strikes in Syria, against rebel forces who've suddenly taken control of large areas of the city of Aleppo, Syria's second biggest city. Rebels led by an Islamist group Hayat Tahrir-al-Shams forced Syrian government soldiers to withdraw from the city — in a battle that killed hundreds of people, including regime forces and civilians.
