RSPCA cautions over gifting pets

To purchase a pet or not, that is a pressing question during the holiday season . Animal welfare organisations are asking people to think carefully before buying pets as Christmas presents, after a surge in the number of unwanted animals being given away. The RSPCA and volunteer rescue groups have recorded big numbers of mainly cats and dogs being put up for adoption, partly due to to the cost of living crisis leaving people unable to pay to keep their pet.
