Professor Tom Calma steps down from Reconciliation Australia

Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - Un pódcast de ABC listen - Martes

One of the nation's most respected human rights and social justice campaigners is stepping away from his role as co-chair of Reconciliation Australia after more than a decade leading the national conversation about Australia's colonial history and its shared future. Tom Calma's work on Indigenous health helped establish the 'Close the Gap' Campaign - and he's been a key player in a range of debates since then, including the Voice to Parliament referendum. He steps out of the role as a new debate develops on the role of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags in public life.
