Changing Australia: Vicki Jellie and the fight for better cancer care in Warrnambool

Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - Un pódcast de ABC listen - Jueves

A decade ago, many people affected by cancer in the regional Victorian town of Warrnambool faced a terrible choice. Life saving treatment was hundreds of kilometres away in Melbourne or else where. For some farmers, business owners and families that trip over and over again was near impossible, and there are stories of some getting help too late or choosing not to get treatment at all. After losing her husband to cancer, Vicki Jellie made it her life's work to get improved cancer treatment services in her community, not taking no for an answer. Guest: Vicki Jellie, founder, Peter's Project Foundation
