Loris Degioanni, CTO and founder of Sysdig, shares his open source story, from his work on Wireshark to pioneering cloud native security platforms with Sysdig and Falco. Sysdig is a universal system visibility tool with native support for containers, while Falco, now under the CNCF, provides real-time anomaly detection in containers and Kubernetes. We discuss the evolution of network security with the advent of containers and Kubernetes, highlighting the shift from packet-based to system call-based security through eBPF technology. He also underscores the importance of community collaboration in enhancing security measures and is optimistic about the role of open source in shaping the future of security. 00:00 Welcome and Introduction01:34 The Evolution of Sysdig and Falco02:37 Connecting the Dots: From Wireshark to Falco04:37 eBPF Technology09:18 Falco's Impact and Unexpected Uses11:24 The Importance of Runtime Security Detection13:11 Empowering Developers for Better Security17:41 Excitement in the Open Source AI Ecosystem21:04 Closing Thoughts and Future of Security   Guest: Loris Degioanni (he/him) is the Chief Technology Officer and founder of Sysdig.
