Hey Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. In honor of the month February the month of love and Valentine's Day, I bring you Full House S6E16: The Heartbreak Kid, which aired on February 9, 1993. In this episode Michelle mistakes Steve's friendliness for romantic love. Jesse has trouble with his new computer. I really enjoyed this episode, it makes us realize just how tender children's hearts can break so easily and we need to respect their feelings. Am I saying Steve should have just went along with the sham marriage to Michelle, for heaven's sake, no! What, I am saying is DJ and Steve should have been up front with her and told her "Now, Michelle, you know this is all pretend, right? We're just having fun". It was one thing for Steve to play along, but when DJ got in on this fantasy indulgent of hers, it became too real for Michelle, DJ even states " I can't stand in the way of true love" almost like "here, Michelle, I give Steve to you." I'm sure many of us probably had a crush on an older person (not adult age, but maybe a few years older than ourselves, that's what this was at first and then it spiraled out of control. We've all I'm sure at one point felt the sting of rejection from an unrequited love, it hurts when they don't share the same feelings. The two side stories: PLOT B Jesse and his 90's version of a word processor/dinosaur laptop. This was cute. I love how Steph is the tech genius in the family (even though, it's DJ who has the computer in her room) and had to teach the "adult" how to use it even though Jesse can operate a mixing board and other pieces of equipment pertaining to creating and recording music. Granted Stephanie's version of teaching is telling and not showing, I'm sorry, but if I'm learning something for the first time I need hands on more showing and less telling, as I'm hitting the keys or something, don't just give me a bunch of information and say good luck. Now, on to PLOT C: This one boiled my blood in ANNOYANCE! Danny and Joey go to clean out Joey's closet, Danny finds a shoe box filled with what he calls JUNK, mind you, this is the same person who had an attic filled with a plastic Zorro sword, dead ants in an ant farm (that's just nasty, throw that out!), a bowling trophy(he didn't even play, it was for cleanest ball), it just goes on and on, I mean, wait till you get to the garage sale, oh boy. But, we'll get to that in the Season 4 Slumber Party episode in MAY 2020. Anyway Danny finds a picture of his old girlfriend (don't worry, it's not Pam, now, that is a can of worms we don't want to open) is a woman named Barbara. Danny is so fixed on this one girl he dated probably back in 10th grade before Pam and also at this time in the show he was dating Vicki long distance, why harp on this? Why does he care so much? He even calls her on the phone (stalker much, Danny?) got her number from the phone book (hey 90's kids, remember when we had to do that. Lucky for Danny, she didn't get married, same last name. Turns out Danny wants to know if she dated him and Joey at the same time. Get this through, Danny broke up with her in high school and Joey swooped in and snapped her up not even a day later. Anyway, not only dated them both, but did it because she wanted to make a younger guy jealous, any guesses on who this guy could be? Trust me you don't have to think too hard, he lives in the house with them. Long story short on PLOT A, Michelle's feelings are hurt when Steve plays a runaway groom (Mom's meatloaf is calling him home, just like when Stephanie married Harry in Season 2 Middle Age Crazy)and Danny helps heal her broken heart by saying she'll fall in love one day for real and get married when she's much older and not at age 6 trying to marry a 17 year old.
