Let's continue today's story on "hobbies." Our character is Marie, a French woman living in Tokyo with her family of four. Her husband is also French and works in Tokyo. Marie is a full-time homemaker, and her hobby is cooking. Now, please listen. Marie, the French woman, lives in Tokyo with her husband and two children. Every day, the delicious aroma of her cooking wafts from her kitchen. While she excels in French cuisine, living in Japan has sparked her love for discovering new recipes, particularly in Japanese cuisine. She even attends Japanese cooking classes. Through these classes, Marie has learned about miso and broth, and now, she makes miso soup every day. Her children especially love tofu miso soup. One day, when Marie's husband, Jean, returned from work, he found Marie in the kitchen as usual, creating something new. The enticing scent of soy sauce and broth filled the air. It was a new recipe she learned in class – "kinpira gobo," a common Japanese home-cooked dish made with burdock and carrots. "Today, I tried a new recipe. Please try it," Marie said. Jean and the children took a bite and were amazed. "This is delicious! Since when did you become so skilled in Japanese cooking?" Jean asked. The children chimed in, "Mom, we want more! Seconds!" Watching her family enjoy the meal, Marie felt truly happy. The time spent together at dinner, savoring delicious dishes, was the happiest time for her. Marie always thinks about tasty recipes and maintaining a healthy diet. While she loves French cuisine, she appreciates the variety of vegetable dishes in Japanese food. She looks forward to learning more about Japanese cuisine. Now, let's hear from Marie's daughter, Amelie. Hello, everyone. My name is Amelie. I'm French, but currently, I live in Tokyo with my family. I attend middle school here and am 14 years old. Since I've been living in Tokyo for four years, I understand Japanese, and I have many Japanese friends at school. I love Japan, so I want to continue living in Tokyo. My mom is really good at cooking. I love her onion soup, but recently, I've become a big fan of her tofu miso soup. Mom makes incredibly delicious meals for us every day. Lately, she's been attending Japanese cooking classes, so she always tries out new recipes. Thanks, Mom! I help her occasionally. Next weekend, we plan to bake bread together. Mom is also good at baking. I want to be like her.
