Barney Kenny – Ep. #7 – The Dustbowl Children – Weissenborn Player

This week my guest is the U.K. based Weissenborn player Barney Kenny. Barney takes what is normally a quiet mellow instrument, and puts it right at the forefront of his rock band “The Dustbowl Children”. Adding overdrive, wha-pedal, and other effects he is redefining the sound of the traditional Weissenborn style hollow neck guitar. In this interview I wanted to get his fresh perspective of not only Weissenborn and lap slide style playing, but also his take on the music industry, and the highs and lows of being in an up-and-coming Rock Band in the U.K. I’ll also being playing tracks of their newly released EP called “Hollow Lands”.
