1 in 2 business owners in New Zealand are over 50. This is according to CPA Australia's Asia-Pacific Small Business Survey. Compared to NZ, the Asia-Pacific average is against a survey average of 28% New Zealand has around 546,000 small businesses, which represent 97% of all firms in the country. These small businesses are a massive part of the economy, contributing significantly to employment and the gross domestic product (GDP).
