Approved for production by Leonard Cohen just before his 80th birthday in 2014, the film accesses a wealth of never-before-seen archival materials from the Cohen Trust including Cohen’s personal notebooks, journals and photographs, performance footage and extremely rare audio recordings and interviews.Over the years 'Hallelujah' has become much more then just a song and this film beautiful explores that as we got to sit down with directors Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine to talk about the origins of the film, how the very nature of documentary filmmaking is almost like working with out a net, the power and legacy of the song among many other things....Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song is in theatres in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver this Friday July 15th.  It expands across Canada through out the summer.
