It's time for a little more 'Celluloid Management Oversight' up in here today as we've got even more movies to dissect and classics to determine. We sit down with John Allison; the founder and lead programmer of not only the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival but also the Dark Bridges Film Festival which is relaunching this summer. On this episode we take it back to 1982 and dive into Eating Raoul from writer/director Paul Bartel which is streaming now on the Criterion Channel. It's the story of a relatively boring Los Angeles couple who are sick of the amorality and filth that surrounds them as they find a way that's only just a "little" murderous to get out of the city and fund the restaurant of their dreams. It's a gonzo and occasionally bawdy commentary on the decade of excess that preceded it and to say that the film needs to be seen in order to be believed is possibly the understatement of the week.We sit down with John, dissect what this film had to say and why if at all it deserves to be called a classic
