Ask what they need (listener) or ask what it is that you need (sharer).E - Each of you are autonomous individuals.A - Accept yourself and your partner. Give Attention - if you can't give a time when you can (receiver). Articulate clearly as you share or repeat what you heard them say (receiver) and Advocate for your needs as you go (both).R - Be Reliable (always do the above), Responsible for your "stuff," and Respectful of boundaries, agreements and differences.T - Transparency builds Trust.
